Goodbye, 'Jogbra'...

May 2015: First up, though I still try to put up blog content whenever I can, it has been easier to more regularly visit the the Twitterverse. Follow me at @barethomas10 and let's keep the shirtless running flag flying. Of course, the blog still attracts very interesting comments, and good discussion. Keep it up.

Second, in the years since this venture launched, and as shirtless running among women has gone increasingly mainstream, the term "jogbra" has clearly declined in use. I will thus prefer "sportsbra" henceforth - as has already been the case on Twitter, and in recent posts here.

I continue to welcome guest posts (sent to barethomas@gmail.com) on any related topic, including from those who would discourage stripping to the waist. I am myself of course a fervent convert to the joys of running bare. But let all voices be heard!

Policies

Here are some guiding principles underlying this blog:

(I) Intellectual property

a) When I reproduce another person's blog/forum post here, I will always give full credit and a link to the original post. Where possible, I send a communication (a comment on that person's page, an e-mail or some such) informing him or her of the use of his or her intellectual property, briefly explaining the nature of this blog and also offering to remove the piece if he or she would prefer it. So far, though, no one has stated such a preference. I thank all contributors, without which this blog would have died out very quickly.

b) Where I reproduce just a paragraph or two from another person's blog/forum post, so that it qualifies as 'fair use' or 'excerpting', I still try to provide a link to the original post.

c) Editing of contributors' pieces is kept to an absolute minimum, and never deliberately alters the substance, nuances or style of the writer.

c) I try to keep links current but do not do so systematically. When I do discover a broken link, I update accordingly. If anyone comes across a broken link, I would be grateful if you could tell me.

(II) Orientations and prejudices

a) I try to provide a range of views from other blogs/forum postings broadly bearing on the topic of shirtless running and related issues. I do not necessarily endorse these views. I thank all who have suggested pieces for inclusion here or have offered a guest post.

2) I gladly take responsibility for my own quirks of thought or biases. No insult is intended to any party. Anyone who takes offence is welcome to write in and I will try to reply fairly. Where relevant, I would be happy to amend the text or insert an apology, elaboration or other emendation.
